Who We Are

The sign in front of our meeting place states that we are a "church of Christ." This explains to all who we are. We are a church (an assembly of people) who are "of Christ" (i.e., we belong to Christ). Such has existed since the days of the apostle Paul who wrote, "The churches of Christ salute you" (Romans 16:16). We belong to Christ as our Savior and Lord. Why not? He purchased us with His redeeming blood (Acts 20:28). As a group of penitent believers who have been baptized (immersed) into Christ for the forgiveness of our past sins (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38), We have found peace of mind, joy in living, hope for the future and purpose in life.

We believe that Jesus is the only hope for our sin-sick world. Christ came into this world to show us the way back to God (John 14:6). Jesus has changed our lives for the better and we know He can change your life also.

It is our aim to be just like the church Jesus built and is the head of (Matthew16:18; Ephesians 1:22-23) as set forth in the New Testament. We want to be nothing more and nothing less than this. We are not a part of a human denomination because such is unknown in the New Testament. In fact, the New Testament scriptures condemn such sectarian division (I Corinthians 1:10). For this reason, Jesus is our only religious head. We believe Christ has "All authority" to direct us "To observe all things" that he commanded the apostles (Matthew 18:18 & 20). Christ's directions for His church are found in the New Testament of the Bible. Jesus rules over every aspect of our lives, both in our individual responsibilities and our collective congregational work and worship. Our mission is to have book chapter and verse for all our beliefs and practices. This is what makes us different from other religious groups.

Our aim is to restore the simplicity and purity of undenominational Christianity. To those who want to serve God after the Bible pattern, this is a "breath of fresh air" in religion. We seek to be a loving fellowship in which we endeavor to help each member become the best Christian possible. When you visit with us, we hope you find a warm greeting from our various members. We want to help make you feel at home among us. Someone will probably ask you to fill out a "visitor's card," so we can have a record of your visit. You will not be singled out or embarrassed in any way by your visit. We will ask you to join in our worship for your own spiritual edification.

Our Bible Studies Have A Spiritual Emphasis

We meet on Sunday morning (9:30 A.M.) and Wednesday evening (7:30 P.M.) to study the Bible together. We have bible classes for all ages. If you have children, most anyone will be happy to help you find their classrooms.

We meet Sunday morning at 10:30 A.M. and Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. for worship. We believe God's Word is truth (John 17:17). For this reason all we teach is the Bible. We do not spend our time on politics, crafts, or frivolous entertainment. We believe that it is only by going back to the Bible that we can be set free from sin, self and religious error (John 8:31-32). The Bible is our only rule of faith and practice. The opinions and religious traditions of men are shifting and cannot save. It does not matter what we think about anything. The only thing that ultimately matters is what God has revealed.

Our Worship

In our worship we engage in the simple acts prescribed in the New Testament. Our worship is conducted "decently and in order" as I Corinthians 14:33 requires. One of the brethren will humbly lead the assembly in prayer (I Timothy 2:1-2). The entire congragation will sing hymms of praise to God, which not only glorify Him, but also encourage and teach one another. (Ephesians 5:19) Jesus, as He kept His last passover with His diciples, created a memorial for Himself, so that Christians might always remember His sacrifice for our sins. To keep that memorial, we all partake of the emblems He specified. The unleavened Bread represents to us His body that was nailed to the cross, and the grapejuice reminds us of His spilled blood that cleanses us. (Luke 22:19-20) We also delve into the Word of God as our preacher, Bill Feist, or one of our other capable men open the scriptures and teach. (2 Corinthians 4:5) Though we have great faith in our teachers, we also open our Bibles in study, to prove those things the preacher brings to us. (Acts 17:11) Though the church has much work that God gives us to accomplish, we do not ask for funds from our visitors and we do not charge for any service we might provide. To support the work of the church we take up a collection of the saints that is used to support preachers of the gospel among us, across the country, and around the world. (1 Corinthians 16: 1-2)
